Photos Metadata Utility helps you fix and manage photo and video metadata in bulk, with a practical focus on real-world camera workflows.

Many photographers shoot with two devices at once: a phone with accurate GPS and a DSLR or mirrorless camera without GPS. This app lets you transfer location data between matching photos based on capture time—or import locations from a GPX track recorded by a phone, watch, GPS logger, or other device.

What you can do:

• GPS Sync by nearest time match  
Select source photos or videos and reference items with location data. The app compares capture times and assigns GPS coordinates from the closest matching reference item within your chosen time window.

• Import locations from GPX tracks  
Import a GPX file and assign locations to photos and videos using either nearest-point matching or interpolation between surrounding track points. Configure the maximum time gap and an optional time offset to align the track with your camera clock.

• Time correction in bulk  
Adjust capture times for many items at once, including timezone and daylight-saving corrections, camera clock drift, and quick positive or negative time offsets. This is useful when traveling or when different devices are out of sync.

• Remove location metadata  
Quickly remove location information from selected photos and videos when privacy is more important than map placement.

• Review before applying changes  
Preview planned edits, match details, skipped items, and errors before committing anything.

• Reverse previous edits  
Applied changes are recorded in local undo history, allowing you to restore previous dates or locations when needed.

Important notes:

• The app uses Apple Photos permissions to read and update metadata in your Photos library.  
• Changes affect metadata managed by Apple Photos; original image and video file contents are not rewritten.  
• Some operations may require media to be downloaded if items are currently stored only in iCloud.  
• Basic time and location edits are also available in Photos, but this app is designed for faster batch processing, cross-camera GPS transfer, GPX-based geotagging, and a consistent preview-and-revert workflow.
