FlipTab helps Safari users get back to the tab they were just using without hunting through the tab bar
FlipTab helps Safari users get back to the tab they were just using without hunting through the tab bar.
Use a keyboard shortcut to return to your previously active tab, or close the current tab and let FlipTab focus the tab you came from. It keeps a separate recent-tab trail for each Safari window, so research, docs, dashboards, and everyday browsing stay easy to navigate.
Features:
- Previous tab shortcut: press Command-E to flip between the current tab and the last one you used.
- Smart close: close the active tab and return to the tab you were using before it.
- Window-specific history: each Safari window keeps its own recent-tab order.
- Private by design: no accounts, no analytics, and no external servers. FlipTab only uses temporary local session state needed for tab switching.
Setup:
1. Open FlipTab.
2. Click Extension Settings.
3. Enable FlipTab in Safari.
4. Confirm or customize the keyboard shortcut in Safari Settings.
