Ever been in the zone, excelling, spread-sheeting, wording, emailing, designing, code flowing, ideas sparking, just absolute peak productivity
Ever been in the zone, excelling, spread-sheeting, wording, emailing, designing, code flowing, ideas sparking, just absolute peak productivity... only to have someone tap you on the shoulder and ask "hey, got a sec?" You did not, in fact, have a sec.
StatusBar is a tiny but mighty menu bar app that lets your coworkers know whether you're available for a quick sync, a casual hallway chat, a watercooler moment, a coffee break, or a good old-fashioned face-to-face touch base, or whether you're heads down and should absolutely, positively not be disturbed.
Click the menu bar icon to reveal a simple dropdown with two options: Free or Busy. That's it. No onboarding flow. No account creation. No notifications about notifications.
When you're Free, your status glows green — the universal signal for "yes, let's touch base, let's circle back, let's put a pin in it and pick it up later, let's hop on a quick call, let's align on next steps." You're open for business.
When you're Busy, your status turns red — the universal signal for "I am in deep work mode, please do not ping me, message me, wave at me, send me a calendar invite for a "quick chat", or stand behind me breathing until I turn around".
Perfect for remote workers sharing a screen on Zoom, or in-office warriors who need a do-not-disturb signal without taping a sticky note to their forehead, or anyone who has ever wanted a polite way to say "not now."
Features:
- Lives in your menu bar. Always visible, never in the way.
- One-click dropdown to toggle between Free and Busy.
- Color-coded status. Green means go, red means no.
- Lightweight. Uses virtually zero system resources.
- No account required, no data collected, no internet needed.
- Works offline, because your availability status is nobody's business but yours.
StatusBar. Because "let's circle back" should be on your terms.
