PhoTriage is a RAW culling app, built for photographers who need to review large shoots before editing
PhoTriage is a RAW culling app, built for photographers who need to review large shoots before editing. It helps you move quickly through contact sheets, inspect focus, mark keepers, and prepare selected images for the next step in your workflow.
Open a folder and start reviewing without importing into a catalog. Rate, label, pick, reject, compare, and filter with a keyboard-driven interface designed for high-volume sessions. Your original RAW files are not modified; culling decisions are saved as XMP sidecar metadata or written into the chosen export destination.
KEY FEATURES
• Fast contact sheet review: browse RAW, JPEG, and HEIC folders with responsive thumbnail and loupe views.
• One-key decisions: apply star ratings, color labels, Pick, Reject, and filters without breaking review flow.
• Focus-first inspection: use a 100% loupe, focus peaking, exposure warnings, histogram, and EXIF details to make sharper choices.
• Compare and survey views: place similar frames side by side, sync zoom, and review burst groups set by set.
• Smart grouping: automatically group similar shots and bursts so a large shoot becomes easier to scan.
• Local assisted first pass: optional on-device analysis can suggest keep, review, or reject candidates while leaving the final decision to you.
• Non-destructive metadata: write ratings, labels, picks, and rejects to XMP sidecars while leaving original RAW files untouched.
• Editing handoff: export selected images with XMP metadata for Lightroom, Capture One Session folder workflows, Photo Mechanic-compatible folders, and Finder.
• Private by design: no account, no cloud sync, no upload requirement, and no network entitlement in the sandbox build.
• Session dashboard: review counts, picks, rejects, groups, export history, and audit-friendly logs.
SUPPORTED FORMATS
RAW: CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, DNG, ORF, RW2 — plus JPEG and HEIC.
PhoTriage is focused on the first-pass selection stage: make decisions locally, keep the originals safe, and carry clean metadata into the editing app you already use.
