Your digital mixer has sends and returns. FX Rack Live lets your Mac handle the Audio Unit effects in between—without opening a full DAW session every time. Connect a multichannel Core Audio device, build up to four parallel processing chains, and route a mono or stereo mixer send to a dedicated stereo return. Each chain can host multiple Audio Unit effects in series, with its own input and output routing. FX Rack Live remembers the selected audio device, routing, chain labels, plug-ins and saved plug-in state. Save a setup, relaunch the app and return to the same rack configuration. If the preferred audio device is temporarily unavailable, the app waits for it rather than silently switching to another device. Version 1.1 adds flexible tempo control for time-based effects: - Set one Global BPM from 20 to 300 for every chain that follows Global tempo - Give any chain its own independent Local tempo - Enter a BPM or tap the tempo manually - Use MIDI Learn to map a Note-on as the tap control for the Global tempo or an individual chain's Local tempo - Pass the effective host tempo to compatible Audio Unit plug-ins Designed for FOH engineers, churches, small theatres and fixed Mac mini installations that need a focused, repeatable external effects rack. Requirements and notes: - Requires macOS 12.4 or later - Runs on Intel and Apple silicon Macs - A multichannel Core Audio device is required for mixer send/return routing - Audio Unit plug-ins are not included - Plug-in support, latency and available channel counts depend on the selected hardware, driver, buffer size and plug-ins - MIDI tempo control responds to learned Note-on messages; MIDI Clock, Start and Stop are not supported in version 1.1
