Post-production has changed at breakneck speed. Editing hardware and software became dramatically more powerful and affordable. We went tapeless. Then remote. But when it comes to the workflows and edge cases that are specific to our field, we've largely been left to find our own solutions. We still pass notes around in general-purpose documents. We call around to edit bays to collect running times. VFX teams can spend days building shot spreadsheets by hand. And when offline and online timecodes don't line up, sometimes the solution is still a calculator, a notepad, and a lot of patience. ShowBuild was created to solve those kinds of problems. It's a post-production toolkit for Mac and iPhone, with a free tier for small teams. SHOT LISTS FROM DAVINCI RESOLVE Build VFX, graphics, clearance, or other shot lists directly from your timeline. ShowBuild integrates with DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Resolve Studio. Add a Text+ label above the shots you want to track and ShowBuild does the rest — collecting timecodes, durations, source information, shot names, and automatic reference screenshots. Import the resulting list into ShowBuild, organize and track shots with your team, associate graphics elements with plates, and export lists when you need to share them outside the app. SHARED RUNNING TIMES Stop calling around to every edit bay. Editors and producers can enter segment or act running times into one shared calculator, and the entire team sees the updated total immediately. PRODUCER NOTES Keep notes out of scattered documents and email threads. Producers can add and organize notes inside ShowBuild. Editors are notified when new notes arrive, and producers can see as notes are completed. TEAM CALENDAR Schedule meetings, screenings, deliveries, edit assignments, and other production events in a calendar shared by the team. Create events, assign people, and keep everyone working from the same schedule. ROLES & PERMISSIONS Give people the access appropriate to their job. ShowBuild includes roles designed around real post-production teams, helping larger groups manage who can create, organize, administer, and modify different parts of the workspace. MULTI-EPISODE ORGANIZATION Keep multiple episodes inside one production workspace. Switch between episodes easily, or keep multiple episodes open at the same time on Mac when you're moving between cuts, notes, and schedules. TIME CODE DRIFT CALCULATOR This one solves a very specific problem — because sometimes very specific problems are the ones that waste the most time. If you're manually over-cutting offline media and the offline timecode doesn't line up with the high-resolution source — for example, because material was shot at 25 fps but ingested into an Avid project at 24 fps — ShowBuild can calculate the corresponding source timecode for you. Save clip information and reuse it as you work through an online. COLLABORATE WITH YOUR TEAM Create a ShowBuild group for your production and invite the people you work with. Use team feeds, direct messages, shared notes, calendars, running times, shot lists, and other post-production tools without spreading your workflow across a collection of unrelated apps.
