Rival turns every workout into a competition. Challenge any friend to a head-to-head rivalry in running, cycling, hiking, tennis, gym, golf, or paddle — then race live with real-time stats on both sides of the screen.
How it works:
Send a challenge, pick a sport and format (distance, time, or manual), and when both players tap "Ready" the countdown begins. During live races your distance, pace, heart rate, calories, and elevation stream in real-time while you watch your opponent's stats update beside yours. When someone finishes first or time runs out, the result is scored instantly and your rank updates.
Rank up through six tiers:
Every win (and every loss) shifts your score. Climb from Underdog through Contender, Breakout, Ace, Legend, and Mythic. Your rank badge shows on your profile, the leaderboard, and every challenge card.
Meetup mode:
Pick a spot on the map and meet your rival in person. The same live tracking and scoring works whether you're across the city or standing next to each other.
Ghost Race (Pro):
Race against your own past workouts. Beat your previous best and watch yourself pull ahead on the split screen.
Works with iPhone only or iPhone + Apple Watch:
GPS tracking, pedometer, and pace calculation run on iPhone. If you wear an Apple Watch, Rival automatically picks up heart rate data for richer stats — but it's completely optional.
Background sync with Apple Health:
Workouts recorded in Apple's Workout app are automatically detected and logged in Rival the next time you open the app, so nothing gets lost.

Privacy first:
