Route Trail

Route Trail is a clean and intuitive network diagnostics toolkit for iPhone and iPad, enabling users to visualize their data's path across the internet with its Trace Route feature, which displays hop-by-hop latency measurements and hostname resolution in real time. The app also offers a suite of essential network tools, including DNS Lookup for querying various DNS record types, Ping for testing host reachability with detailed statistics, Whois for domain registration details, and a Port Scanner to check for open or closed common ports on any host. To aid in learning, Route Trail includes a Network Quiz with 48 questions across four categories: Network Basics, Protocols, Security, and Internet History, complete with detailed explanations and score tracking. All completed traces are automatically saved in the Trace History, allowing users to revisit detailed hop-by-hop breakdowns with animated route visualizations or swipe to delete entries, with an option to clear all history at once. Built with native Cupertino components, the app offers a familiar, polished, and lightweight experience with smooth animations throughout.
