Onward is a calm, private, local-first way to build habits and reach goals — it keeps everything on your device.
Most trackers only do checkboxes. Onward gives you four ways to track, so it fits how you actually think about progress:
• Daily Habit — the classic streak. Do it, check it, keep the run alive. Flexible frequencies (a few times a week, monthly, quarterly), specific weekdays, rest days that don't break your streak, and quit-habit tracking that counts the days you stay clean.
• Running Total — count something up. Miles, pages, glasses of water, dollars saved. Log it in a couple of taps and watch it add up.
• Target by Date — "read 12 books by December." Onward does the pace math and tells you, honestly, whether you're on track, ahead, or behind — and shows its work.
• Resolution — a one-time goal with no quantity, like "update my will." Track it as a plain checkbox, a percentage, or a checklist of sub-tasks — whichever fits.
Drag any habit, total, or target to reorder it within its own section, so what matters most sits up top.
INSIGHTS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Your history becomes feedback: current and best-ever streaks, completion rates, an at-a-glance activity heatmap, per-goal trend charts, milestones worth noticing, and a weekly review of how it went.
BUILT TO FIT REAL LIFE
• Timed habits and a focus (Pomodoro) timer
• Reminders — as many as you need per habit, grouped by time of day
• Notes and a mood tag on any entry
• A full calendar history you can edit and backfill
• Light and dark mode
ONWARD PRO
Everything above works free — all four goal types, iCloud sync, Apple Watch, up to 5 active goals. A one-time Onward Pro unlock ($9.99, no subscription) removes the goal limit and adds the full Insights dashboard, Weekly Review, timed habits + Focus timer, Apple Health import, CSV import/export, multiple reminders per habit, and Resolution progress tracking. There's also an optional tip jar if you'd just like to support development.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Onward is local-first. Your data lives on your device — no account to create, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. iCloud sync across your own devices uses your private iCloud — still no servers of ours. Optional Apple Health import reads a workout only when you tap to import it; nothing is sent anywhere. The App Store privacy label says it plainly: Data Not Collected.
No subscriptions. No noise. Just a quiet tool to help you keep moving onward.
