  Yuck

  If “AXS” is meant to be pronounced “Access,”, the name is woefully ironic. This app is stupidly and unnecessarily complex to set up, requiring multiple steps that seemed to have no end. Documentation was both cheerful and inadequate, as though somebody ran Duolingo’s affirmations through AI. For example, the event our group wanted to attend had you sign up through a Google form, and then each of us had to download and register through the app. Apparently, AXS automatically set up a password for new users’ But did it tell you that? Of course not. You had to figure that out when the PW you set up was rejected, go through a reset process, and then VERIFY your email AGAIN. Then when you sign back in, you have to scroll past other event promotions to find your ticket EVERY TIME you open the app. Everyone in our group is tech-savvy: one is a software engineer and another consults on Ux/UI systems, yet nobody succeeded in registering on their first try. One person was so frustrated she suggested skipping the event and going to dinner instead. I don’t know what this app is designed to accomplish — promotions, maybe? — but it fails utterly as a ticketing app.

  Ridiculous user interface makes usage difficult

  Every time I have to use it it seems my old password doesn’t work. Today I went through 5-6 password changes to try to get to my tix for tonight’s event. I do not have this problem with Ticketmaster, for example, and frankly it’s now bad enough that it is a factor in deciding whether to purchase certain events. I even set up a pass key, and it doesn’t use it. Horrible. Update: they responded telling me to write to a specific email address. It’s two hours before a show that you have tix in AXS for, and the help you need is merely days away on the other side of an anonymous email address?
