Offloader

Offloader is a lightweight utility that frees up disk space by accelerating your iCloud Drive offloading. Your Mac may wait days, weeks, longer—or never—to offload files, even when they’re safely stored in iCloud. Offloader steps in and gets it done faster.
	•	Speeds up iCloud Drive offloading so your Mac regains disk space sooner

You stay in control: choose how long files should remain unused before they’re eligible for offloading. Offloader will quietly scan your iCloud Drive folders on a schedule, identify safe-to-offload files, and trigger your Mac to remove local copies—freeing up space without deleting anything.

How Does It Work?

Offloader uses safe, system-level APIs to proactively identify and offload files to iCloud Drive files that:
	•	Have been uploaded to iCloud
	•	Haven’t been used for a user-defined period
	•	Are not pinned or recently opened

When found, Offloader asks the system to bookmark the local copy—exactly as macOS would eventually do on its own. The files remain in iCloud and are re-downloaded on demand, automatically when you access them.

Offloader does not move, delete, or modify your files. It simply accelerates the native offload process based on your preferences.
