Markdown Studio Editor

Markdown Studio is a visual editor for local Markdown files on macOS.
Open a Markdown file, work in a focused editing view, and save readable Markdown back to the file you selected. Use Save As when you want a new destination.
Markdown compatibility is a product promise. Markdown Studio preserves the original source byte-for-byte when the document is saved without edits. It preserves compatible custom or unknown markup when the edit can be applied safely; otherwise it warns before writing.

You can cancel a warned save to leave the destination unchanged, or explicitly choose Save Anyway. When you choose Save Anyway, Markdown Studio may normalize source formatting or other syntax outside the edit. The app discloses that risk before writing; it does not silently claim that every source detail was preserved.

Markdown Studio includes common formatting commands for headings, emphasis, lists, quotes, and code. Find and replace text with match navigation and undo support. Open links explicitly: web and mail links go to macOS, headings move within the editor, and linked Markdown files open through the same safe document workflow.

Markdown Studio keeps unsaved changes visible before you switch documents or close the window.

Markdown Studio is local-file-first. Core editing does not require an account, cloud sync, or a network connection.
