  ID Verification Camera Won’t Focus

The ID verification process is incredibly frustrating. When trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, the app requires me to photograph my driver’s license, but the camera will not focus when the ID is close enough to properly fill the frame. I have to move my iPhone so far away just to get the license in focus that the app then says it can’t get a good image. The normal iPhone Camera app has no problem taking a clear, focused picture of my license, so this appears to be an issue with the camera implementation inside the Developer app. There should either be better autofocus/lens switching or an option to upload a photo taken with the regular Camera app. As it stands, I’m unable to complete enrollment because of a camera issue that shouldn’t exist on an iPhone.

  Identity Verification Camera Needs Improvement

The app works well overall, but the identity verification process needs improvement. The camera would not focus on my ID, causing verification to fail repeatedly, with no option to upload a clear photo instead. This made Developer Program enrollment unnecessarily frustrating.
