Drift is a minimalist journaling app that asks you one simple question every day.
You get a prompt. You write up to 150 characters. After 7 days, your words disappear forever — unless you seal them for a year.
That's it. No infinite scrolling through old entries. No pressure to write something profound. No word counts, streaks, or achievements. Just a moment of honest reflection, then you let it go.
HOW IT WORKS
Each day, Drift gives you a thoughtful prompt — drawn from themed packs covering reflection, memory, imagination, grief, creativity, and relationships. Questions like "What truth are you avoiding telling yourself?" or "Describe a moment when a stranger changed your day."
You write your response in 150 characters or less. The constraint is the point: it forces you to distill your thoughts to what actually matters.
After 7 days, your entry fades from the archive and is gone. Nothing is saved forever. Nothing is uploaded. Your thoughts exist briefly, then drift away — just like they do in real life.
TIME CAPSULES
Sometimes a thought is worth keeping. Seal an entry for a year, and Drift resurfaces it exactly 365 days later as a quiet "on this day" moment. A small conversation with your past self.
