Synastry is the traditional method of compatibility analysis in Astrology. It analyzes the angles ('aspects') between all planets in two birth charts. 

Aspects correspond to certain relationship patterns based on the planets and signs involved. 

The Planets: Sun, Moon, Ascendent, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Midheaven

The Signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces

The Elements: Fire, Earth, Air, Water

The Aspects:
