Booki combines book discovery, personal library tracking, ownership tracking, ratings, notes, and reading insights in one focused mobile experience. The app is designed to stay lightweight and easy to understand while still giving readers enough structure to manage a growing history.
Current Feature Set
• Search books by ISBN, title, or author using Open Library data.
• Scan ISBN barcodes with the camera for quick book entry.
• Open with a branded Booki splash experience before transitioning into the main reading dashboard.
• Show a full-screen duplicate warning when a scanned book is already owned or already read.
• Save books to a reading library or a separate wishlist.
• Track reading status with Want to read, Reading now, Read, and Did Not Finish states.
• Track ownership independently from reading status so a book can be both owned and read.
• Rate books from 0 to 5 stars and set ratings directly from the Mark as Read flow or the details screen.
• Add notes and tags to each saved book.
• Assign a saved genre from a curated list and filter the library by genre.
• See favorite authors based on average star ratings across completed books.
• Track favorite genres and top genre based on personal book selections.
• Filter and sort the library by status, ownership, genre, rating, recency, title, and author.
• View quick stats including average rating, books finished this month, and average publication year.
• Use adaptive layouts that support device rotation and iPad screen sizes.
